The Avenue | 19 June | 7:30pm

Adelaide’s very own internationally-touring, highly decorated with many review stars and always very funny Ben Darsow joins us to headline Wednesday Night Comedy. Hosting the show, ABC Radio’s Kat Davidson is bringing a stellar night of laughs this Wednesday at The Avenue! Book your table: (07) 5592 1678.

Benny Darsow is an internationally touring comedian from Adelaide who delivers laugh-out-loud observational and improvised standup. He hosted the 2018 Sydney Comedy Festival Galas (Bondi & Cremorne) and is a regular headliner and host on stages around the country and all over the world. Nominated for Best Comedy 2017 & 2016 Perth Fringe World.

“hilarious…able to take the most mundane situations and turn them into laugh-out-loud moments”

★★★★1/2 – The West Australian (2018 Perth Fringe World)

“genuinely laugh-out-loud funny…super-chilled and a natural on stage”

★★★★ – The Funny Tonne (2018 Melbourne Comedy Festival)

“one of the warmest, most engaging comedians I’ve yet seen…get out and discover Benny Darsow”

★★★★– Herald Sun (2017 Melbourne Comedy Festival)

Seeing Kat on stage is like visiting an old friend you haven't met yet. She's shared the stage with the world's best comics (Stephen K Amos, Steven Wright, Dave Hughes to shamelessly name drop a few), tamed a shed full of drunk miners, kept a 17 year marriage off the rocks and is currently being parented by her five year old. She tackles relationships, observations and random events with equal passion and her unique storytelling ability takes her audience along with her for the ride. Kat has been a professional improviser since 1993, hosted Gala Events and worked a crowd from the back of a cattle truck. She can be heard regularly across Queensland ABC radio and has headlined the best clubs in Australia and Canada. She is also the co-producer of the highly successful Ladies Comedy Nights in Brisbane, can regularly be found at sea performing for huge crowds on P&O Cruise ships and enjoyed sell out seasons of her original show Untidy at the 2012 Brisbane Comedy Festival and husband and wife co-production He Said, She Said (with husband Stav Davidson) at Wonderland Festival, venues around Brisbane and P&O ships since 2016.

Comedy in the back room at The Avenue is a Wednesday night staple in Surfers Paradise – every week from 7:30pm! With huge lineups and some of the best comedians from around the country and abroad, prepare your laughing gear to see some of the best from around the country and around the world. We can't wait to see you there.
